How to play with color:

Posted by: admin

Tagged in: Untagged

Here is another Deb's idea of "playing with color" that I would love to share her artical with all of our members. Anyone that has some valued knowledge that would love to share with others, please send your idea or artical via comment or e-mail me. I will post all valued knowledge on the blog. This is her letter wrote to me.

Hey and howdy Emy!

I will be glad to explain playing with color. I love to share things with others so much, it makes the world a better place! I got rid of my TV and do not miss all the bad news all the time. I would rather turn on music and do my beading that watch TV anymore. When I don't bead, I work with my horses and work with race horses.
Here is an easy way for you to play with color! Grab two or three beads of say six to eight different colors. Make sure to have some AB finishes and Opaques too. Then lay them out in a row side by side, I make rainbows, very mixed up rainbows. But what is fun is that you will see color combinations you would never think would look nice together! ......read more, please click on the article.

Austrian beads.....

Written by Deb Lemons, April 16, 2010

I am not sure if Swarovski is the only brand of bead being produced in Austria. I have some strings, older vintage that are tagged with little paper labels that say "made in Austria". There is no doubt in my mind that they are truly Austrian due to the fact of the clean edges and the clairity of the beads. I saw one blog where someone raised this point about Swarovski crystals. ......…read more please click on the article

Swarovski's History (Continued)

In the mid 1950's, Swarovski created a finish that really made the crystal glitter with the help of a man named Christian Dior. This coating took Swarovski crystal to a whole new level of sparkle that was perfect for creating hanging chandelier components, which were fit for royalty. Some of these chandelier components continue to hang today in the Palace of Versailles.......Read more please click on the article

I happened to find one of the website that you can take a tour at the original place of Swarovski in Austria. I will love to visit one time in my life. I hope next year (2010), which will be the year of our world travelling (me and my husband), we plan to visit many countries in Europe. The Austria will be, for sure, one of the countries that I love to visit as it is the inspiration of my hobby as my new career.

This is the website that you can click on to take the same tour that I was talking about. You have to have the Adobe Flash to be able to open this video though.

Tip: How to make our figurine charm tighter.

Posted by: admin

Tagged in: Untagged

From my experience:

  • I will try to pull every single cycle tight, but not too tight.
  • Don't worry about some cycle that might be a little loose, we will come back to fix it later.
  • I will not repeat put line in bead that we need to come back to do something with that bead because it will make hole too tight and can not pass the line through, such as tail, ears, legs, etc.
  • After the whole figure is done but still have some spots that are loose, just go back to put line through all those loose spots in zigzag motion. This way will not only make your figurine tighter, but also give strength to your charm.

Is it Real Swarovski Crystal?

How do you know it is real Swarovski Crystal?

I always wonder that the crystals that I ordered are real from Austria. All sellers on e-Bay claim that their crystals are real from Austria, but after I order as the whole factory package I found out that some of the crystals from some e-Bay sellers were glass beads from China. .......read more please click on the article
